Privacy Policy for motica care
With this privacy policy, we want to inform you about the data we collect in connection with the use of the motica care application and how we use this data. By downloading this application, you agree to the following terms of this privacy policy.
Data We Collect from You
The data we collect when you use the motica care application includes:
- Technical information about the device: the device model and unique device identifier. Crashlytics is used for crash reports; therefore, Google's privacy policy applies.
- If motica care is set as dialer and thus uses its telephony functionality, the communication log is recorded. This only concerns communications made or received while the user is logged into the application.
- In very specific debugging cases, for a short period and only with the client's written permission, the app may record a 10-second audio clip when a new alarm is received by motica care. These recordings are not collected on the server. They remain on the device for the support technician's use and are deleted after 4 days.
- Personal data: name, first name, profile picture (optional), email (optional), and phone number(s) (optional).
Where We Store Your Personal Data
The data collected by motica care is stored on your SmartLiberty server, which is either physically located in your facility or on a VM provided by your IT service. Any information you provide through the application may also be stored on your phone's local storage.
Disclosure to Third Parties
Your data will never be shared, sold, or exchanged with third parties by SmartLiberty AG. This applies to all data stored in motica care. Your data is used exclusively for customer support by SmartLiberty AG.
Required Access
To fully use motica care, the application needs access to certain functions and applications on your device. These include:
- Camera: To take photos and scan QR codes.
- Contacts: Read contacts.
- Microphone: To record audio (10 seconds) in very specific debugging cases, for a short period and only with the client's written permission.
- Phone: To make calls and view the phone's status and identity.
- Notifications: To inform the user of an internal system event, including the appearance of a new alarm.
- Nearby devices: For the use of Bluetooth (headsets).
Your Rights
Any user can request from their institution the correction, deletion, or restriction of their data according to GDPR. Please note that uninstalling the app from your device does not guarantee the removal of personal information stored on the institution's server.
