Safety for your patients and staff
In the ever-evolving landscape of psychiatric care, where no two days are alike and new challenges surface daily, our solution gives high priority to protecting both patients and staff.
Safe use for people with psychiatric disorders
Recognizing that individuals with psychiatric conditions may not always identify crisis triggers, SmartLiberty has closely worked with clients to improve our solution, significantly reducing risks with our call and location system. It's very important for people with psychiatric conditions to move freely without facing extra risks. Through this close partnership and continuous improvement, our system is designed to support such freedom of movement, while simultaneously ensuring a safe and controlled environment. This balance between autonomy and safety is fundamental, allowing individuals to navigate their spaces securely and with confidence.
Staff protection
In managing the day-to-day care of individuals with psychiatric illnesses, care providers often encounter situations where rage or uncontrolled movements present risks to staff safety. SmartLiberty responds to this challenge with our mobile staff badges, offering a secure and discreet method for staff to initiate assistance or SOS calls based on the situational need. As a customer, you can determine which staff members respond to these alarms and the desired precision of location tracking both inside and outside the building. This feature empowers your employees to enhance their safety across all areas covered by the system, ensuring they can confidently navigate potentially hazardous situations with the support they need readily available.

Psychiatric mode
Our "psychiatric mode," designed for psychiatric wards, improves our staff badges to meet the specific needs of these environments. In situations where discretion is critical, this mode allows for the deactivation of visible alarm indicators, like the badge's LED, to avoid exacerbating a patient's distress caused by noticeable alerts. Furthermore, an innovative feature of the psychiatric mode is the ability to set the badge's acknowledgement button to trigger an SOS alarm with multiple presses, providing a hidden way to request emergency assistance. These functions can be turned on or off according to the specific needs and protocols of your facility, providing your staff with tailored protection that aligns with the unique demands of psychiatric care. This adaptability ensures that safety measures are both effective and sensitive to the environment, enhancing security while reducing potential stressors for patients.
Access control and elevator control
Our access control solution, focusing on hands-free operation, uses special radio frequencies for smooth interaction. With the strategic placement of our location markers, both doors and elevators can be intelligently managed, incorporating two principal functionalities: preventing unauthorized access by securing doors and elevators, and enabling entry in cases of authorized access. In scenarios where a patient nears a potentially dangerous area, the system can specifically block access to doors or elevators, enhancing safety through targeted control. Moreover, our technology is designed to handle prioritization competently, ensuring, for instance, that a door remains closed in the presence of an unauthorized badge, even if an authorized badge is simultaneously detected. This priority setting is also effective in situations involving multiple individuals, allowing access, for example, when two authorized badges and one unauthorized badge are in proximity.

The elevator control feature is customizable, allowing for the elevator to be called while keeping the control panel inactive and the door open, or alternatively, locking the elevators call button.
Our sophisticated access control system also extends to the precise opening and closing of room doors, safeguarding the privacy of both patients and care staff. The system makes sure that emergency doors, both electronic and mechanical, can open without any blockages, and it meets all necessary standards and regulations. This approach not only fortifies security but also respects the autonomy and privacy needs of all individuals within the facility.
Vandalism and tamper protection
To address the escalating issue of vandalism, as reported by our customers, we have fortified our permanently installed components with additional security features. Each component is secured with specialized security screws, designed to prevent unauthorized access or tampering. Moreover, these components are equipped with an integrated opening alarm feature, which promptly triggers an alarm should there be any attempt to forcibly open the device. This is complemented by continuous monitoring of each component to ensure its proper functioning and integrity.
Our resident badges are not left behind in terms of security enhancements. Every badge incorporates an infrared tear-off detection function, which can be activated to alert staff if the badge is forcefully removed. Additionally, to further prevent the badges from being torn off, they can be equipped with a security lock, especially useful for securing the badge when worn on the wrist. These measures collectively enhance the durability and security of our system components, ensuring they remain functional and secure, even in the face of potential vandalism.

Teststation for Badges
Our testing station for staff and resident badges gives your employees the opportunity to check the status of the badges at any time. This ensures that in urgent situations, an SOS call can be reliably initiated. The station provides essential information such as the battery level, badge ID, the owner's name, and the badge's current system status, indicating whether it's assigned, active, or inactive.
Additionally, the test station also serves as an alarm display where authorized personnel have the right to cancel specific alarms and access the personal data associated with each badge. This feature is helpful for quickly getting lost or misplaced badges back to their owners. It also helps care staff a lot in their daily work by making things run smoother and improving efficiency and safety in the care setting.
