New EU regulations for smartphones – eco-design
Since June 2025, the European Commission has introduced new regulations to improve the repairability, sustainability, and environmental friendliness of electronic devices, especially smartphones and tablets.
Samsung remains committed to responsible innovation and has launched its Eco Design program. Among other things, this program guarantees software updates for all new models for a period of five years after the end of sales.
